007-inspired Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition debuts, limited to 300 units
Land Rover has caught on to the hype around the new Bond film, No Time To Die, by unveiling a James Bond themed limited edition of its top-spec Land Rover Defender V8. While Aston Martin cars have been synonymous with these movies, the Land Rover Defender and other JLR models have been made regular appearances over the franchise's run. The special edition Defender V8 is a Land Rover SV Bespoke project and will be limited to 300 units globally.
Available in both the 90 and 110, the Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition comes with a blacked-out look inspired by the Defenders used in the movie. The Bond Edition is specced with the extended black styling pack, 22-inch gloss black alloy wheels with the blue brake callipers and a model-specific Defender 007 badge. This inscription continues on the treadplates while the Pivi Pro infotainment gets a 007 start-up screen. Finally, there are 007 puddle lamps as well as laser-etched numbering on each of the 300 examples.
The Defender V8 Bond Edition remains mechanically unchanged from the standard Defender V8. The 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol continues with its 525PS and 625 Nm. The Defender 90 equipped with this motor can do 0 to 100 kmph in 5.2s and reach a 240 kmph top-speed, making for the fastest Defender ever. Other mechanical enhancements to go with the more powerful engine are unique spring and damper settings and the addition of an active rear differential with a yaw controller. The terrain response system also comes with a Dynamic mode with this engine option while thicker anti-roll bars have also been added. Read our review of the India-spec Defender here.
