Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) will now include a revolutionary Antivirus Cabin Air-filter in its vehicles, which is very efficient in capturing a wide range of dangerous bacteria, allergies, and even viruses that may cause serious health issues.

The new antivirus cabin air filter is available as a Honda Genuine accessory and a replacement for the regular Honda pollen filter. This filter will be introduced in all of Honda's recent cars including Honda City, Honda Amaze, Honda WR-V and Honda Jazz.

The first layer of the new Honda antiviral cabin air filter, which is covered with the active ingredient of leaf extract, inactivates allergens and germs and prevents them from being discharged into the cabin air, according to the carmaker. The adsorption of hazardous acidic gases, pollutants such as PM2.5, and particle matter are handled by the second layer, which is comprised of activated carbon. Most viruses, ultra-fine aerosols, dust, and pollen are captured by the other layers.

The Honda Antivirus Cabin Air-filter was created in collaboration with Freudenberg, a worldwide technology company that uses forward-thinking solutions to benefit consumers and society.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director - Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, "With increasing concerns around germs, viruses and cabin air quality, it is our conscious effort to provide an active solution and a defence mechanism to mitigate possible health hazards caused by compromised air quality. This Anti-allergen & Antivirus Cabin Air-filter is a fine example of Honda working diligently with its suppliers towards delivering a product that improves the health and safety of driver and co-occupants of the car. We expect the demand for such protective solutions to increase rapidly in future."
