Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV unveiled with a range of 600 km

The Mercedes-Benz EQS broke the cover with its striking looks and exceptionally rappelling onboard tech. The German Marquee brand has now only gone on and done it once again by taking the wraps off the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV.

To be targeted to its ultra uber-luxury clientele, the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is just a raised up version of its sedan sibling, which by no means is a negative takeaway. The flagship electric offering from Mercedes once launched will take on the likes of the BMW iX and most importantly the Tesla Model X.

A black strip runs across the front of the SUV, which is flanked by sleek LED headlights, huge aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a full-width LED light bar for the taillights. An obvious panoramic sunroof, flush-fitting door handles, a side-step and a roof-integrated spoiler are all included in the SUV.

The EQS SUV has a length of 5,130 mm, a width of 1,955 mm, and a height of 1,727 mm. It also has a 3,200 mm wheelbase, which is the same as its electric sedan brother.

The new Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, like the EQS sedan, will be available in two different powertrains, the EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4MATIC. The standard model has a single electric motor that generates 355PS and 568 Nm and is powered by a single electric motor in the rear axle. The top-spec model, on the other hand, has two electric motors (one on each axle) that produce 536PS and 858 Nm of torque.

Using a DC fast charger, both trim levels of the EQS SUV are touted to be capable of charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 31 minutes. According to Mercedes-Benz, the EQS has a maximum range of roughly 600km (WLTP cycle), which is around 170km shorter than its sedan sibling.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, like the EQS sedan, has a cabin that is crammed with absolute comfort and luxury. A 12.8-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch driver display are standard on the 450+ model. Both displays are OLED screens. The EQS SUV 580 4MATIC, on the other hand, comes with a single 56-inch curved glass display. Buyers interested in rear-seat comfort will like the two 11.6-inch display displays in this level, as well as the option of a tablet in the center console.

The Mercedes Benz EQS SUV has AIRMATIC Air Suspension with Adaptive Damping System, several driving modes such as Comfort, Eco, and Sport, 10-degree rear-axle steering, and a multitude of driver-assistance technologies including as adaptive cruise control, Active Lane Keeping and Blind Spot Assist.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV will go sale later this year in international markets, but we are sure to expect the car to come to India in 2023 after the Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan is launched later this year.
