Spec comparison: Ford Figo AT Vs Maruti Swift AMT Vs Hyundai Grand i10 Nios AMT

Ford has launched the highly-anticipated Figo AT in the Indian market. It's the only torque converter in its segment competing against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift AMT and Hyundai Grand-i10 Nios AMT.

Ford Figo is the oldest car of the trio and the recently launched AT variant doesn't carry any changes, save for the alloy wheels. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki recently launched the facelifted Swift with the Dual-jet petrol engine. Hyundai is yet to launch any facelift of the Grand-i10 Nios. In terms of design, the Figo shows its age whereas both the Swift and Nios look up to date thanks to LED headlights, dual-tone alloys and modern equipment.

Ford Figo measures 3,941mm in length, 1,704mm in width, 1,525mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,490mm. Maruti Suzuki Swift measures 3,845mm in length, 1,735mm in width, 1,530mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. Hyundai Grand-i10 Nios measures 3,850mm in length, 1,680mm in width, 1,520mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. The Figo is the longest and has the largest wheelbase, whereas the Swift is the tallest and the widest.

On the inside, the Figo lacks modern equipment like infotainment with Android Auto and Apple Car Play and cruise control. On the safety front, Ford Figo boasts six airbags, traction control, hill-start assist, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers and more. Talking about the Maruti Suzuki Swift, it comes with LED headlights, LED taillights, a 7.0-inch touchscreen system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play and more. Hyundai Grand-i10 Nios tops the features list with DRVM, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless charging, rear AC vents and more.

Ford Figo comes powered with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, mated to a 6-speed torque converter. The engine produces 96PS of power and 119 Nm of torque. The 6-speed torque converter of the Figo gets a dedicated sports mode and manual override as well. Maruti Suzuki Swift gets a 1.2-litre Dual-jet petrol engine with 90PS and 113 Nm of torque and it comes mated to a 5-speed AMT. Hyundai Nios also comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 83PS and 113 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed AMT as well. Out of the trio, the Figo AT excels with its sophisticated AT gearbox.

Ford Figo AT is offered in two variants - Titanium at Rs 7.75 lakh and Titanium+ at Rs 8.20 lakh ex-showroom. Maruti Suzuki Swift AMT range is priced from Rs 7 lakh and goes to Rs 8.55 lakh ex-showroom. Hyundai Grand-i10 Nios is priced from Rs 6.62 lakh and goes to Rs 7.86 lakh ex-showroom. Ford Figo undercuts the Swift AMT by a good margin but the Grand-i10 Nios is still considerably cheaper than the Figo AT.
