Upcoming 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio spied again ahead of launch
More images of the new-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio have emerged ahead of the hatchbacks expected to debut in the coming month. The Celerio sees a ground-up reworking with this update and gets a completely new exterior and interior to go with this change.
2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio styling
The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio now wears a more contemporary look. The high-roof design of the previous generation seems to have been ditched for better proportions while there seems to be a rounded theme to the hatchback's looks. This is seen with the rounded edges to the grille, lighting as well as bumper elements. Notable is the heavy chrome and running across the grille and the chunky detailing in the bumper. A large but crisply styled glassware remains with simple body panels and contrasting black allow wheels expected on the top-spec versions at least. The rear again carries forward this soft-edged look with the compact taillamps and rounded bootlid.
2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio interiors, features
Some images of a base-spec 2021 Celerio have also been seen, which suggests that an all-new layout here too. Expect to see large, vertical air vents with circular theme silver highlight around the centre stack and the gear shifter. The cabin should offer reasonable amounts of headroom and legroom, although the Celerio will still be best suited for four passengers. There should also be a small instrument binnacle and a new steering wheel design previously unseen on Maruti Suzuki offerings. Expect the features list on higher variants to include an 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple Carplay, steering mounted controls, power windows, keyless entry and start, electrically-operated mirrors and cruise control. The Suzuki Connect suite of connected car functions should be available optionally.
2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio engine, gearbox
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio should move to the fifth-generation Heartect platform on which most of the brand's other offerings are based. The engine option should be the K10B 1.0-litre petrol motor with 68PS and 90Nm and paired with either a five-speed manual or five-speed AMT. An ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure of around 22 kmpl can be expected. A CNG variant should be added to the lineup eventually.

The new Celerio should be priced between Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh, ex-showroom. The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio will compete against the likes of the Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid and the upcoming Citroen C3.
